Ponte Santa Trinita

Il Ponte Santa Trinita attraversa l'Arno a ovest del Ponte Vecchio e fu costruito negli anni sessanta del '500 scorso da Bartolomeo Ammannati con la partecipazione di Michelangelo. Nel XIX secolo, era considerato uno dei ponti più famosi in Italia. La sua elegante struttura è caratterizzata dagli archi a cesto piatto con ampie aperture, dagli angoli marcatamente acuti dei piloni e dalla presenza di decorazioni scultoree, come cartigli con iscrizioni e statue raffiguranti le quattro stagioni. Durante la ritirata delle truppe tedesche nella notte del 3 agosto 1944, tutti i ponti fiorentini furono distrutti, tranne il Ponte Vecchio.
The Santa Trinita Bridge spans the Arno River to the west of the Ponte Vecchio and was built in the 1560s by Bartolomeo Ammannati with the involvement of Michelangelo. In the 19th century, it was considered one of the most famous bridges in Italy. Its elegant form is attributed to the flat basket arches with large openings, sharply acute angles of the supports, and its sculptural decoration, including cartouches with inscriptions and statues representing the four seasons. During the retreat of German troops on the night of 3 August 1944, all the bridges in Florence were destroyed, except for the Ponte Vecchio.
Der Ponte Santa Trinita führte westlich des Ponte Vecchio über den Arno und wurde in den 1560er Jahren von Bartolomeo Ammannati unter Beteiligung von Michelangelo errichtet. Im 19. Jahrhundert galt die Brücke als eine der berühmtesten in Italien. Ihre elegante Form verdankte sie den flachen Korbbögen mit großen Spannweiten, den deutlich spitzen Winkeln der Stützen, sowie ihrem skulpturalen Schmuck (Kartuschen mit Inschriften, Statuen der vier Jahreszeiten). Auf dem Rückzug der deutschen Truppen wurden in der Nacht des 3. August 1944 alle Florentiner Brücken bis auf den Ponte Vecchio gesprengt.
