Il Kunsthistorische Institut in Florenz aveva sede a Palazzo Guadagni in Piazza Santo Spirito dal 1912, con una pensione al piano superiore. Hilde affittò una stanza qui durante uno dei suoi soggiorni a Firenze. Fotografata dalla loggia, la vista conduce verso nord sulle case della piazza e sul Campanile di Santo Spirito, attraverso la città fino alle colline del Mugello. Come nelle fotografie della Galleria degli Uffizi, del cortile di Palazzo Pitti e della Torre di Giotto, Hilde gioca con diversi livelli di spazio e di luce nella sua composizione, con il livello anteriore, quasi in ombra, che funge da cornice.
The Kunsthistorische Institut in Florenz had been based in Palazzo Guadagni since 1912, with a pension on the upper floor. Hilde rented a room here during one of her stays in Florence. The photograph, taken from the loggia, gazes across the Piazza and the Campanile of Santo Spirito to the north, spanning over the city to the hill chains of Mugello. As in the photographs of the Uffizi Gallery, the courtyard of Palazzo Pitti and Giotto's Tower, Hilde plays with multiple layers of space and light in her composition, where the foreground, almost in shadow, acts as a frame.
Das Kunsthistorische Institut in Florenz hatte seit 1912 seinen Sitz im Palazzo Guadagni an der Piazza Santo Spirito, in dessen oberen Etage auch eine Pension eingerichtet war. Hilde mietete sich während einer ihrer Aufenthalte in Florenz hier ein. Die Aufnahme von der Loggia aus fotografiert führt den Blick über die Häuser entlang der Piazza und den Campanile von Santo Spirito nach Norden, über die Stadt hinweg bis zu den Hügelketten des Mugello. Wie bei den Fotografien der Uffizien, dem Palazzo Pitti-Hof und dem Giottoturm spielt Hilde in ihrer Bildkomposition mit mehreren Raum- und Lichtebenen, wobei die vordere, fast verschattete Ebene als eine Art Rahmung fungiert.
